What's the principle of 3d printer? What's the difference between 3d printer and traditional printer, or engraving technology?
It is not difficult to explain its principle, which is generally the same as traditional printer's. Both of them create the object little by little by sprayer. The different point is that the material usd by 3d printer isn't ink but the printing material of liquid or powder. Then stacking the material layer by layer controlled by computer. The 3d design on the computer will be turned into the real object finally.
The following turbine prototype, the material is ABS. It is too complex to machine it by CNC Milling, but it is an easy way to get it by 3d printing. To make the prototype, the client needs to provide us with a 3d drawing, then our programming engineers input the data into computer, and 3d printer will print turbine prototype as the commands designated. The raw material will melt into liquid in the sprayer and will be curdled when it comes out after shined by laser.
It is not an easy job to stack the material. Up to now there are varieties of stacking technology. There are mainly two ways: one is Stereo lithography, take a 3d printer branded Object from Israel as an example, it sprays a very thin liquid plastic material on the tray, then treated by UV,the tray will come down by a very thin layer to get the next layer stacked. As the technique is very precise, the surface of prototype feels smooth without being polished.
Prototype making is mainly used for structural assembly, complex curve building, functional test, which is our competitive strength with our techniques and equipments. If you have any needs in prototype, please kindly give us the 3d drawings of igs/stp format, we will send you a professional suggestion as well as a best quote.
